SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' J.C. Eagle shot an opening round 73 and the Cowboy golf team is in fourth place after the first round of the Concan Invitational at Concan Country Club in Concan, hosted by Texas Lutheran.

Eagle has a one shot lead over a pair of players. The Cowboys shot a 317 as a team and is in fourth place, but just four strokes behind tournament leader Mary Hardin-Baylor. Texas Lutheran and Incarnate Word are tied for second with a 315.

Michael Weehunt shot a 79 and is in 10th place for the Cowboys. Brian Laing shot 82 Brad Leeper an 83 and Derek Eddins 88 was the throw away score.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with 18 holes.
