ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team honored its two seniors on Senior Day and they responded with big games as the Cowgirls defeated Schreiner 90-71 in American Southwest Conference action on Saturday at the Mabee Complex.

Rachel Cisneroz had 22 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals and Shelby Hodges added 13 points, 11 rebounds and six assists as the two played their final home game of their careers.

HSU jumped out to an early lead and never trailed. The Cowgirls led 42-30 at the half and led by as many as 24 points in the second half.

It was not all seniors however as freshman Lindsey Newcombe had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds and Ashley Allen added 13 points.

HSU shot 51.6 percent in the game and dominated on the glass 49-34. HSU also had 20 assists on 33 made shots.

Courtney Davis led Schreiner with 16 points.

HSU improved to 18-5 on the year and 15-4 in league play. Schreiner fell to 6-17 overall and 5-14 in conference action. HSU closes out the regular season next weekend on the road at Concordia and Mary Hardin-Baylor.
