ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team moved to 4-3 on the year with a 8-1 win over Whitman College in action at the Streich Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. The Cowgirls, who will head to California on Saturday to start a four-match Spring Break trip, dominated the team from Walla Walla, Washington. Tracy Henington won her No. 1 singles match for the Cowgirls, 7-5, 6-3 over Elise Otto and she also combined with Lisa Mertz for a win in No. 1 doubles. Diane Crouch won her fifth straight match at No. 6 singles for the Cowgirls. Jennifer Chueng was able to pull out a three-set win. Mertz and Brittany Brazell each won their singles matches for the Cowgirls. HSU is 4-3 on the year and Whitman fell to 7-4 on the season. |
